Earth Hour 2013: I WILL IF YOU WILL CHALLENGE

We can make a better world, you and me, starting today, starting right now. It's possible, and I know we can do it.

A fun way to get started is by taking part of Earth Hour.

I created my own I Will If You Will Challenge this year, and I'm inviting you to join me! I've already began creating a series of 50 ecological drawings - watercolor pencils and pastels on paper (book pages, actually) -; and I'll exhibit them by the end of this year. I'll donate all the money from selling my art work to WWF (I'm talking about World Wide Fund for Nature of course, not World Wrestling Federation -lol-) if you start recycling!

Van Gogh's *Kawaii* Sunflowers

I guess Vincent van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’ is one of my favorite paintings. The cheerful colors, the radiant energy that blossoms from the amber petals, the golden warmth that glows so exuberantly, filling every bit of your heart with sweet solace…
I couldn’t resist paying homage to this fabulous masterpiece by transforming it into an explosion of kawaii jollification!

Artist Bio:

Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890), was a Dutch postimpressionist. Most of his life was spent in France, and his wonderful works influenced the expressionist movement greatly.

How to draw a Chibi Sunflower

I love sunflowers! They’re beautiful, brilliant and perfectly cheerful!

STEP 1

Start by drawing a circle. This will be your sunflower’s face.

STEP 2

Now add some petals (around the circle). They should be large and slightly pointy.

STEP 3

Draw a long thin line - for the stem -, and a couple of beautiful leaves, one on each side of the line/stem.

STEP 4

Finally, draw a small circle for the right eye and a mouth (you can draw a tiny tongue too, if you like). Color the eyeball, making sure you leave two minuscule white circles to make a sweet shiny look. For the playful wink, draw an inverted ‘u’ where the left eye should be, with a fancy eyelash on its external end (to make it even cuter!).

STEP 5

Your sunflower is ready! Color and enjoy!

Join Earth Hour 2013!

"Our future will only be secured if each and every one of us, including each and every one of you, make every hour an Earth Hour… and get actively involved in our communities, in our workplaces, in our schools, in our universities, and spread the message that time is fast running out for the future of this planet.”

"Any activities you can pursue that promotes a peaceful, green, just and equitable world [are] actions that you would be taking to ensure that when the question is asked, ‘What did you do when the world was falling apart, when the future of our children was at risk?’ you can say, ‘I did my part.’ And let’s hope that you can inspire our governments, businesses (and) leaders to do likewise.”

Missing Yeti Figure by Sernuretta

"Missing Yeti lives atop snowy mountains with her candy flowers. Don't you want her to visit you with a breath of candy coated air?"
                            Sernur
My friend Sernur designed this sweet candy lover yeti for the Pictoplasma Missing Link Research Exhibition at the Museum la Gaîté Lyrique in Paris December 2011, and it was recently chosen as the winner of ShouldBee's "Winter Wonderland" contest!

If we Pre-order at least 25 units total by February 28th, 2013, Missing Yeti will emerge from her mountain as a 3D printed 3 inch toy!
As a special gift, the first 25 people to order will receive Missing Yeti sketches drawn and signed by Sernuretta.
This lovely creature can be found in either of two varieties:
Blank White Figure - 3D printed in an all white plastic, for you to paint and customize.
Multi-Color Figure - 3D printed in full color.
